Hi! I'm Lisa Paul.

I'm the chef and owner of Monday Night Meal Company. A graduate of the prestigious Stratford Chef School,  I have been cooking in restaurant and catering kitchens in Toronto, Stratford and Ottawa for more than 15 years. I also  taught private and corporate cooking classes at Dish Cooking Studio and Aphrodite Cooks for nearly a decade.

In addition to my culinary skills, I have a BA in journalism from Ryerson University. My writing has appeared in, among other publications, the Globe and Mail, TorontoLife.com, NOW Magazine, Post City MagazinesCanadian Living and Foodservice and Hospitality magazine. Yes, of course I did some “foodie” writing, silly. But I actually prefer to spend my time testing recipes and making delicious food, not writing about it. These days, whenever possible, I document my adventure with pictures instead of words ...

Cooking for my pre-schooler and two stepdaughters—tween and teen—has taught me as much about making successful (and unsuccessful) meals for people as has my professional experience. My husband and our dog, on the other hand, happily eat any mess I make.

But, big surprise, it was after starting a family when the day-to-day insanity of trying to raise kids in the big, busy city, while working like a dog and trying to live well, eat well, and spend quality time together—big breath!—really hit home. I knew I wasn’t the only person feeling this way, and I was inspired to start a company that could help alleviate some of the stress from the demands of our modern, urban lives.

Monday Night Meal Company is all about bringing people to the table—any day of the week; it's about taking the time to nourish ourselves; it's about the importance of family dinners or shared meals, during which memories are so often made. I work very, very hard to make it easy for you!

I am a proud—and fully insured—member of the USPCA, as well as a member of the Canadian Personal Chef Association. I also have a current Food Handler's Certificate.
